about:
Breaking Through; Breaking Free
Just wanna share with you guys some things that God has spoken to me about
Psalm 27
"The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid" (verse 1 - 2)
At the start of the year, God really spoke to me about rededicating my life to him
He spoke to me about 2 things.
He told me these 2 words "I'm here", then He gave me this image of a house built on solid rock that would not fall even though the waves come crashing down.
If God is the foundation that you build your life on,
then no matter what trials and tribulations you face
whatever you go through, you will stand strong.
I really feel that sometimes when we are going through bad times, when the world comes crashing down,
that we really need to look to God and realize that HE IS GOD! And with God,
Whom shall i fear? Of whom shall I be Afraid?
That whatever happens, if we keep the faith, and fight the good fight,
God will honour us and see us through!
"Teach me you way, O Lord, And lead me in a smooth path, because of my enemies... For false witnesses have risen against me..."
"I would have lost heart, unles I had believed That i would see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living." (verse 11 - 13)
We live in a broken down world, many a times we will face fears and discouragement
sometimes its people in our schools, our life who question us about our faith and ridicule our committment to a God they cannot see and do not know
Other times, it's people who we are close to, who are in church, who say very hurtful things
in time like this,
I feel we really need to stand strong in our faith in God
We need to draw even closer to God
God is our strength and our comfort
But we also need to ask God for guidance and help
and also ask God to "teach me in Your way"
that we will walk down the righteous path and not stray
I firmly believe that there are many paths we can take in life
only one of them is correct and that is of God
and if we follow this path without straying
even though we may meet hardship
but God will walk beside us, behind us, and carry us through if need be
"wait on the Lord; Be of good courage. And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!" (verse 14)
Wait on the Lord
I believe that has 2 meanings
1. to Linger in God's presence
2. to Wait for the promises of God to unfold in your life
When I was depressed and down, I guess its a tendency for some of us to blame God
sometimes we pray and pray and we ask for a miracle
we can quote so many verses like "Ask and it shall be given unto you" or "if you have a mustard see of faith..." and we always think that we want the results now and fast
when our problems aren't solved, we become angry at God
but
God works in ways we do not understand,
Maybe, He is bringing you through this because he wants you to learn something
Maybe, it's a test of your faith and your belief in God
Maybe, now is just not the time, and if we just wait a little longer
then God will come and do a miracle in your life.
I think it's significant that David says "Wait on the Lord" and it's kinda more like a command than a song or a Psalm.
the point being, WE ARE SUPPOSED TO WAIT ON THE LORD
AND HE SHALL STRENGTHEN YOUR HEART!
So i really just want to encourage everyone who is going through difficulties now
that even though it seems to be fail fail fail all the way,
somehow, behind all that
God is still with you, God is in your heart
YOU are GOD's CHILD
take heart in that!
Wait on the Lord
and He will be faithful and just
and see you through =)
